My journey with Al-Anon starts like many others who have shared their journey. I wanted to help the alcoholic in my life, but nothing I tried seemed to help! Surely, I could find the answers I needed at Al-Anon.

Grateful my Husband is an Alcoholic
I am grateful my husband is an alcoholic. Well, as I have learned it is not in my time but in God’s time! It took me a while to get that. I was miserable, life was so chaotic and unmanageable, and our kids were caught in the middle of the crossfire.
Why Al-Anon?
I came into Al-Anon in 1988 at the suggestion of my counselor. I was barely functioning and feeling so battle weary, hopeless, depressed, and fearful. I no longer liked the person I had become. I left my first meeting feeling better than when I arrived and hearing, “Take what you like and leave the rest.” made it possible for me to return knowing no one was going to tell me what I had to do.
