My God does for me what I can’t do for myself. I am so grateful for how my God gently turns me in the direction that I do not realize or remember I need to go. I recently had an experience that was clearly my God reminding me of my program tools.

“Keep It Simple”
Keep It Simple! When my dyslexic mind goes into over-drive this is the mantra that leads me to serenity. “Keep It Simple.”
Sharing Experience, Strength, and Hope
When I finally went to my first Al-Anon meeting way back in 2014, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought I could just go to one meeting and magically feel better and be done with Al-Anon. I would be “one and done” and then just ride off into the sunset to live my new and improved life, unaffected by other people’s drinking. One meeting was all it would take.
Forged by Adversity
Every person meets different, difficult situations on their life’s journey. No one is exempt from suffering physical, emotional, and mental pain during their lifetime. How we face each problem, how we deal with it, and what we learn from each problem makes us ready for our next steps in life. There are always problems for us to solve, to live through and adapt to. We are forged by them.
Al-Anon’s Gifts
I came into Al-Anon exhausted, confused, depressed, afraid, and feeling insane.
Al-Anon’s first gift to me was hope, hope my life could get better. Then I received an epiphany: “It is OK to love an alcoholic/addict.”
