Dealing with pain whether physical, mental, or emotional can be very difficult especially when it is long lasting. When in its throes it is easy for me to become depressed, to feel there is no hope it will ever end, that I can’t keep going and I become incapacitated.

Judging – Pointing a Finger
How many years have I spent judging others and blaming them for my fear, my pain, and my anger? Or unconsciously judging people who just cross my path? None of this has ever helped me feel content or at peace.
Dear ONE Prayer
Our thoughts will grace our lives and those around us. Here is my prayer:
I lay my old behaviors before you dear ONE and ask you change me to be as you have created me to be.
Sharing Experience, Strength, and Hope
When I finally went to my first Al-Anon meeting way back in 2014, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought I could just go to one meeting and magically feel better and be done with Al-Anon. I would be “one and done” and then just ride off into the sunset to live my new and improved life, unaffected by other people’s drinking. One meeting was all it would take.
Brokenness
The rooms of Al-Anon – and AA – are full of broken people. We enter shattered by heartbreak and worry . . . the effects of alcoholism on our lives. But in the rooms, we find hope that we can laugh again.
