I was always anticipating the next thing to rock my world and saw catastrophes when I thought of possible outcomes. What if my son starts using again? What if he drops out of school again? What if my husband kicks him out? What if he gives up and tries to harm himself?

Change of Perspective
God, help me to see this situation, this person, this thought differently. Help me change my perspective. When I am angry, hurt, afraid, or resentful what might happen if I change my perspective?
My God in Action
My God does for me what I can’t do for myself. I am so grateful for how my God gently turns me in the direction that I do not realize or remember I need to go. I recently had an experience that was clearly my God reminding me of my program tools.
Forgiveness
When our 18-year-old son’s alcoholism became evident, it was one of many stressors in my husband’s and my marriage. After the initial shock, then began the finger-pointing and blaming. “If only’s” were the topic of many conversations.
