The unanswerable questions of life, “What is God?” “What is love?” The things words fail to adequately define.
I picture my grandpa sitting at the end of that simple maple kitchen table gazing out the corner windows at the ranch, upon the beauty of the natural world, drinking his cup of Sanka often asking this simple question of whoever was near by, “What is love?” There was never an adequate answer; so the question would just linger in the air as he began his day. And, so it is with my question, “What is God?”
For me, God is love. But what is love? I can experience love. I can feel it. I can give it and be loving. It is within me. It is all around me, a power, a force, a feeling, a process, and an action. Love simply is. It exists. It is powerful and gentle. It is peace and serenity. It is magical and ordinary. Love creates and brings about change. All is One and One is All! God is love and love is God. They just are.
