“If a man carries his own lantern, he need not fear the darkness.”
Walking is one of the best forms of meditation and prayer. For some reason, when I walk, my anxiety and fear dissolve into the peace of the trail. Walking along, I see deer, turkeys, squirrels, many birds and reptiles. All this peace around me cannot help but intrude upon my anxious thoughts. Often, I counter my constant negative thinking with the quick question, “What if everything will be, ok?” What if things turn out well? Instead of negative rumination, changing my perspective and thinking that it might all be alright, helps me with my attitude. There is a saying “don’t feed the darkness”, instead feed the light. Focus on the good, gratitude and help.
“Every now and again take a good look at something not made with hands – a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There will come to you wisdom and patience and solace and above all, the assurance that you are not alone in the world.”
So today, try to speak the words – “What if everything will be ok” to a problem today.
